I prefer not to participate in residency cohorts, group exhibitions, panels, and professional collaborations where I am the only member of my race/ethnicity in the room. As a very light-skinned and racially ambiguous Afro-descending woman, it is inappropriate for me to become the sole representation of Blackness or "Latinidad" within predominantly white spaces that have not put enough thought and action into diversifying their applicant pools. I invite any interested parties to consider these factors prior to inquiring about my services and labor. :)
